Did you lose? Are
you reading this because you are in the 3 vs. 4 game rather than the fantasy
championship?
It happens to the best of us, no one is immune. You could take the positive approach and
thank the fantasy gods for getting you this far. But many owners choose to curse those same gods for letting them
down at the worst possible moment. Of
course, there is skill involved, but a great deal of luck and circumstance can
certainly rear their ugly heads.
Just like real players and coaches, fantasy owners should
always be looking to get better. Go
back an analyze the 3 major areas of team management and ask yourself several
questions to determine any strengths or improvements needed to make your team
as successful as possible next year.
1. Evaluate your draft
Review and evaluate your draft performance. Did you pass on Chris Johnson for Clinton
Portis or Brandon Jacobs? Or maybe you picked Matt Forte over MJD? Did you pick a backup QB too early or too
late? How did that sleeper list work
out?
2. Evaluate your starting lineup decisions
Did you rely on defensive match ups too much? Too
little? Did you wait until Sunday
morning to start your lineup rather than evaluating it earlier in the
week? Did you constantly pick the wrong
RB to start? Did you have poor bye week
management?
3. Evaluate your waiver wire claims
Go back and analyze your waiver wire transactions for
successful and not so-successful claims.
Maybe you missed out on Miles Austin…..but you were all over Ricky
Williams. Did you have trouble rotating
your kickers and/or defenses? Maybe you
didn't bother to put and injured player on IR only to see a late scratch on
Sunday. Did you forget to enter in your
picks one week? Instead of filling a
hole at RB or WR, did you opt to claim a replacement kicker with your first
waiver pick?
