So,
you’re 0-3.
Starting
the season 0-2 is hardly a death nail.
Starting the season 0-3 is a little bit of a different situation. Starting the season 0-4 or 0-5, well, that’s
a different story.
Most
fantasy leagues recognize the typical thin NFL week 17 and move their Super
Bowl to week 16. Usually, the playoffs
start in week 13. Essentially, a 7-6
record gives you a decent shot at the playoffs, which means that you have to go
7-3 over the next 10 weeks.
It's
not impossible - not at all.
A
0-3 record with 10 games to go deserves some soul-searching - but not an entire
makeover. Here are some ideas to help
you get a notch in the win column.
1.
Waiver Wire - You are likely near
the top of the waiver wire, so do your best to take advantage of the situation. Essentially, it's a mini- draft so treat it
as a chance to claim a difference maker.
It happens every year, so don’t fall asleep at the wheel.
2.
Explore trades - Trades are less
common in fantasy football, but you should still explore possibilities. Keep in mind; it will likely take a few
weeks to consummate a deal, so start the process early. All of the same rules apply - match needs,
offer fair transactions, and be flexible.
3.
Play matchups - Owners should be
considering the weekly matchup anyway, but this applies to some of your
auxiliary positions. Maybe switch out
the defense or a few IDP players against a beat-up team and/or inexperienced
personnel
4.
Weekly Rankings - Even if you are a
staunch devotee to one or a few particular fantasy information providers, don’t
be short sided in your analysis. Browse our tidy
list of weekly ranking providers to help give your lineup moves more food
for thought. |
