Do you think Chad Ocho
Cinco is having some regrets about campaigning for the Bengals to bring good
buddy Terrell Owens aboard?
Undoubtedly, Ocho Cinco thought he would remain Carson
Palmer’s top target – I think we all did.
But, T.O. has been rejuvenated in the Land of Spaghetti Chili. Through 8 games, Owens has been a workhorse,
catching 55 passes for 770 yards and 7 TDs.
As you can imagine, Ocho Cinco is none too pleased about the
role-reversal.
Ocho Cinco’s stats are a
fraction of Owens’ production. He’s
received 75 targets compared to 100 for Owens, and he’s only managed 40
receptions for 473 yards and 2 TDs.
Ocho Cinco was visibly upset about the lack of opportunity in last
week’s Monday night loss to the Steelers and he ultimately had to be benched in
order to “cool down.”
Sure, the squeaky wheel might get greased a little bit more,
but T.O. has simply been outperforming Ocho Cinco. The Bengals take on the Colts this week and T.O is consistently
ranked in WR1 territory while Ocho Cinco is being ranked anywhere from 23-46
among receivers, which lands him in WR3 territory.
Unless defenses start piling up coverage on T.O., expect the
situation to remain the same until further notice.
