After
the first two weeks of the season, some offenses are taking shape while others
are struggling out of the gate.
Granted, it’s early; but it never hurts to get a read on where the run
production is best and worst.
MOST RUNS/GAME
1.
Philadelphia – 7.14
Juggernaut
continues to roll even without Jimmy Rollins.
2.
Arizona – 6.57
Young
free swinging squad will take every advantage of a hitter-friendly home ballpark.
3.
LA Dodgers – 6.42
No
one ever questioned their offense; it’s the pitching that causes concern.
4.
NY Yankees – 6.14
Money
can’t buy you love, but it can buy you run support.
5.
St. Louis – 6.00
Powerful
lineup will continue to trample the poor NL Central.
6.
Detroit – 5.75
Scoring
runs without the benefit of the long ball (5 HRs – tied 27th).
7.
Colorado – 5.71
Very
balanced lineup playing in favorable home conditions is the ideal situation to
score runs
LEAST RUNS/GAME
30.
Houston – 1.86
The
lineup wasn’t that good to begin with and it’s even worse without the Big Puma.
29.
Seattle – 2.67
After
the speed at the top of the lineup, there’s not much there.
28.
Baltimore – 3.25
They
have some sluggers, but Brian Roberts’ absence is taking its toll.
27.
Cleveland – 3.43
Young,
undermanned team will continue to struggle to score runs.
26.
LA Angels – 3.63
After
having the second-best offense in 2009, it’s a little surprising to see the
Halos at the bottom of the list.
25.
Washington – 3.71
Not
the most exciting lineup, but they have plenty of pop and the ability to
increase run production.
24.
Chicago Cubs – 3.86
Loveable
losers should improve as the weathers heats up.
