When I saw Curtis Granderson pull up lame in between second and third base, a few thoughts went across my mind.

1 – Oh boy, that looked awfully bad – the grimace on his face didn’t hide the pain.

2 – Who’s got Curtis Granderson in my leagues?

3– Brett Gardner will have to slide over to centerfield – is he still on waivers?

4 – I wish I had some candy.

5 – Is there any beer left?

6 – I’m going to check to see if Gardner is still available.

I picked him up in 3 leagues.

Frankly, Gardner shouldn’t have been available in some fairly competitive mixed leagues.  Anyone who has 10 steals after the first month of the season provides value – even if he’s an outfielder.

He’s batting .375 with 2 steals and a 1 HR over the past 5 games, so I’ll certainly ride out the hot streak.  Of course the average will slow a bit, but 50+ steal potential is nice to own.
