Thanks to some well-timed injuries (David Wright & Ryan Zimmerman) I find myself in the middle of the pack in one of my main leagues.  Yes, I tried to hoard third basemen and I now find myself with Chone Figgins manning the hot corner - go figure.  Who would have thought that drafting Jose Bautista would have been a better pick and value?

If you don't believe in Jose Bautista by now, we're not sure if you'll ever be satisfied.  Like most, we were skeptical of his breakout year when he hit.260-54-124.  Our questions mainly surrounded the average, not the power, as we felt 30 homeruns could well be within reach.  Not only has Bautista blasted 18 HRs over 132 ABS, but he has also kept his average at a strong .364 mark. 

There will be a correction - eventually.  But savvy owners will be on top of the hot streaks and adjust accordingly.  That's fine, because Bautista seems to have propelled himself into the discussion among the top fantasy third basemen for the rest of the year.
